The Grace of Godliness -

Peter states: "The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation".  We can be preserved like Lot, if we are walking in the dynamic grace of godliness.  Godliness is like a spiritual storm shelter where believers can take refuge from the spirit of corruption and lawlessness.
